From Mercury 1 to Mercury 2
As one of Mercury’s longest serving customers and having been using our complete booking and despatch system for over fifteen years now, it was only last month that Crownhill Taxis (Plymouth) decided to take the step up from Mercury 1 to Mercury 2.
With a team of seven despatchers, eight telephonists, a fleet of 90+ vehicles clocking up some 6,000 jobs weekly both in and around the Plymouth area, and further afield around the country, it was a no-brainer for owner Andy Wheeler to make the decision to upgrade to Mercury 2.
Why the Change?
“Simply an upgrade” Andy explains. With 40 per cent of their booking volume being account work for blue chip companies as well as school and social services contracts for Plymouth City Council, upgrading to Mercury 2 made this a much simpler task for Crownhill Taxis with features such as Unlimited Text Back, Caller ID, Job Stacking and Real Time GPS.
Why Not Switch to Another Booking and Despatch System?
“The reason we’ve stayed with Mercury is that they’ve always provided brilliant backup 24/7; we’ve never had any difficulties getting hold of them for any reason. They’ve always been more customer-friendly than others.” That’s probably as good a reason as any, as technical backup is crucial especially during any changeover of booking and despatch systems.
